The most unique of Colt’s knives and the one that is in greatest demand by collectors was designed by Barry Wood of Venice, California. He was approached by Colt about making the knives for them in 1968. Production on the first knives was completed in October 1969 with Wood having the blades made by Russell Harrington Company. He then assembled and finished the knives in his own shop. Barry Wood had about 9-10 guys helping him finished the knives. This Barry Wood Colt 2 was made by Herbert Bosley, inside the handle of the Colt, are the initials “HB”. On the blade is “Colt Hartford, CT” and on the tang is “Stainless”. On the back side of the blade is “US Pat. 3702501”. On the main pin is the Colt Logo. This knife has Canvas Micarta handles, comes with a clear tube with red caps and papers. There are light scratches inside of the handle, from opening and closing the knife. Due to the grading system of some recent buyers, I am no longer listing knives as "Mint". This knife comes pretty close though, never used, carried or sharpened.
