This is a beautiful George Schrade Girl Scout knife, spoon and fork set with a leather sheath. On the knife, on the tang, it states “Stainless Steel, Geo. Schrade Knife Co. Pat. 1-27-42, B. Port, CT.” The knife is 3 1/8 inches long when closed and 5 ¾ inches long when the blade is fully opened. The fork has the same markings as the knife, minus the “Stainless Steel” words, it is 3 1/8 inches long when closed and 5 5/8 inches long when opened. The spoon has no markings, it is 4 3/16 inches long. The green leather case has the girl scout emblem on the front flap. The knife and fork handle have a little patina and the green on the knife has worn away in some areas, not bad for a knife this old. The leather case flap still snaps perfect. The reflections on the spoon are from my camera, they are not on the spoon. This kit is one of the best examples of a girl scout kit I have recently seen. Both the knife and fork have half stops, something you don’t see anymore. In more than 50 years of collecting, this is the only girl scout it I have seen. Most kits are from boy scouts.
